Hello, hello, hope you’re all doing well. As I type this it’s 6am and I’m watching Gilmore Girls (apparently 4am is my new waking time 😂) and I thought what better time to talk about our new bedroom makeover, which I should be in right now but there we go.
SO the bedroom, we decided at the start of the year to decorate the bedroom, as we hadn’t touched it since moving in, the walls were a strange mocha colour and we even had the curtains up that the last lady who lived here had, and although the room was fine and did the job, it never felt like ‘ours’.
I really wanted to create a space that felt like us but also was calm and peaceful, and so the decoration begun… but it did end up taking a bit longer than we planned.

Our bedroom before…
First things first, during lockdown, Henry painted the walls, we went for a light off grey colour called Hampton from B&Q’s Good Home Range, I’m not mad about it if I’m being really honest, it’s a bit more cool toned than I hoped, but I still think it’s a nice base, and we had to guess picking it, as it was peak lockdown when we ordered so we couldn’t go to B&Q to get testers.
Nethertheless, it creates a bright, calming space which was what we wanted and it’s miles better than before!
Next up was sorting the bed, we’d had our metal Ikea bed for gosh, about 7 years. It felt very young and I was put off it ever since I saw that the annoying daughter in Homeland had the same bed 😂
We ordered our new bed from Arista Living (disclaimer * we used press discount) and due to everything going on right now, it did mean delivery was delayed, and at one point I was thinking it would never arrive, but it did and I have to say it was worth the wait.

The quality is incredible, I love the tall winged back headboard, and think it looks really luxurious. It’s also an ottoman which lifts up underneath and there’s SO much room- it’s so good for storage!
We’re so pleased with it, and I think it looks amazing. I have a 50% discount code for Arista Living, the code is corrie50 – such a good bed for the price! (Affiliate link)

We also had a bedding upgrade too, we had some new duvet and pillows from Silentnight’s luxury hotel range (PR sample) which are SO cosy. Litreally feels like sleeping on a cloud. The pillows are so comfortable, and trust me (well apart from when my apparent tap dancer of a baby who wakes me up at 4am) it’s very hard to get out of bed!
They feel very luxurious also, and are great for the price. They definitely re create that hotel feel but at home, I think we’ll try and add the mattress topper and thicker tog duvet to our collection too!! Would definitely recommend 🙂
The rest of the bedding is from Next, blanket is eBay, pillows are from Dusk which Henry laughs at me every day for doing the Mrs Hinch karate chop to!
I absolutely love the cushions though and really feel like they make the whole room, we’ve got the 50×50 Connection Waffle Cushion Covers and have the duck feather inserts – they are so cosy for a little afternoon nap!! I was really impressed with the quality and want to order some more Dusk bed linen for sure! Â

We also upcyclyed our bedside table and chest of drawers, they were Ikea ones but were quite old, we painted them with a dark grey furniture paint and added gold handles from Amazon and we’re so pleased with them. They have a new lease of life!
We bought the bedside lamps from The Range – they were just £9.99 each – bargain! The ceiling light is from Amazon, Henry said it was a right faff to put together but I think it looks quite cool and adds a bit of a statement.

Prints wise, I kept the gold frames we had previously from Desenio (previous collab) but updated the prints, we bought a couple of nude/gold ones from Slay My Print for above the bed, and then I finally bought a 70×100 gold frame for our Prada Marfa print that I bought about two years ago from Desenio. I can live out my Gossip Girl dream!

We use the Prada sign over the TV which Henry put on brackets on the wall, I love having a TV in the bedroom, I love nothing more than watching a film in bed, but the TV took up a lot of room, so having it on the wall and then with a print over the top is perfect. I love it and so glad we kept the TV in the bedroom!

We also had some wedding photos printed in black and white from Printboxx, and we popped these in some gold frames too. I also added some little bits like gold photo frames from M&S and some dried grass from Little Deer alongside a mirror which Henry’s Grandparents bought us as a engagement gift on the chest of drawers. I wanted to keep everything very clutter free so haven’t put too much out at all.
The ottoman stool is from eBay which we use as a space for cushions and blankets but also use as a laundry basket.Â
Finally, to finish off the room, we have installed new interior doors upstairs. These are from Wickes and the handles are from eBay, I think these have really updated upstairs and look so nice!

And that is our bedroom. We tried to keep things on a real budget, which I think we succeeded in doing. I love the bedroom, and every single night I feel calm when I walk into the bedroom. It’s lovely to have a relaxing space, and it’s potentially my new favourite room in the house!
I think I’ve linked everything but if I’ve missed anything let me know! Did you do any decorating in lockdown?
