So I think we can all agree that Disneyland Paris is pretty magical right? But pretty expensive.
It’s not the most budget friendly place in the world, but it can be done on a tighter budget, so don’t worry, you can still have some Disney magic in your life that is a little kinder on the purse strings.
After our recent trip to Disneyland Paris, we found some tips and tricks to keep things on a budget, and I thought I’d share these with you today. I hope this helps if you are planning a trip there soon 🙂
Travel
So first things first, travel, now probably the two easiest ways to travel to Disneyland Paris from the UK is by plane or the Eurostar. For us, flying was cheaper and easier, rather than going to London to get the Eurostar, however it depends where you are in the country.
Compare both options and see what works best for you and your budget, for flights I’d recommend Skyscanner, Kayak and Netflights to try to find cheap flights, and look out for Eurostar sales. I found when looking for tickets that flights in the middle of the day/ returning home in the morning were the cheapest.
AccommodationÂ
So accommodation can be pretty pricey, you can stay on site at Disney (there are a range of hotels from 2-5 star depending on your budget) We stayed ay Sequoia Lodge (3 star) and Newport Bay Club (4 star) hotels which we loved as they were on site so super easy to go back to your room from the park. However I do realise that staying on site can eat up at your budget.
I’d recommend checking out Air Bnb for places nearby for a fraction of the price of a hotel (would also work out more cost-effective if you are travelling in a group) or look for other hotels nearby to the parks. There seems to be a lot around that cater for all budgets but still aren’t too far away either!
Park TicketsÂ
So there isn’t much you can do about the price of the park tickets but the best place to get your tickets, which are the best value are from Attraction Tickets .com who have a wide range of Disneyland Paris tickets that are such good prices. ATD have excellent product knowledge and customer service so you could even contact them to see what tickets are best for you and your trip, but pre booking your tickets rather than waiting to get them on the gate will save you SO much time and importantly money!
We had the Multiday Experience + tickets which were a little more than the standard Disneyland Paris tickets, but in our opinion oh so worth it! These tickets come with added fast passes for your second day (meaning you get to ride more rides quicker!) A VIP area to watch the illuminations which was INCREDIBLE, as well as discounts for restaurants in and around the park and discounts at the shops for merchandise.
The tickets are limited, and only available till 30th August, so perfect if you’re planning a trip this Summer. I think it’s worth spending the little more to get these tickets are they include some incredible money can’t buy perks. But definitely head to ATD for your park tickets.
Food & Drink
So you’ve got your travel, accommodation and park tickets sorted, now let’s try to keep on a budget whilst in the park.
If you are on a budget, I’d recommend eating out of the park as within the park the food and drink can be quite pricey.
The Disney village has a lot of restaurants to eat at which are fairly priced, and include Planet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich (if you book your tickets with ATD you get 15% off at these places!)
But to ultimately save money, I’d recommend being prepared and packing snacks with you to eat in the park, and bringing a refillable water bottle to fill with water to take to drink, or buy some of those small squash concentrates to mix with water. We wish we’d thought of doing this, as would have saved so much money with drinks!
You could even get a uber or train to the nearest supermarket to get snacks for in the park, Val D’Europe is very close and is only a couple of stops by train where you could stock up on snacks and drinks for in the park.
If you don’t want to venture too far, McDonald’s is cheap and cheerful and has a bakery for breakfast too!
But I’d say ultimately, try to pack as many snacks and of course a couple of water bottles to take with you!
