So if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll probably know that I am a bit weird when it comes to nail polish.
Okay maybe, I’m being a bit too harsh on myself, but I feel like I maybe over think nail shades sometimes.
You all know the story of when I got engaged and went into a drugstore on the way back to the hotel to buy a more engagement appropriateĀ nail polish which I now cherish, and you won’t believe the sleepless nights I endured about choosing my wedding nail shade. Just kidding. Kind of.
So you may now understand, how I can feel sophisticated from wearing a nail polish, and don’t tell me I’m the only one who feels emotionally attached to nail polishes.
So enough of me waffling on, let’s talk about some Autumn nude nail shades that I am obsessed with.
I’m usually a baby pink nail girl through and through, I’m barely seen without a coat of essie’s Fiji, or Lace Me Up on my nails, me without a baby pink nail, feels a little like going commando.
On a weird un related note, I had a few discussions with people about my wedding day underwear, which sounds weird when I write it out, but other brides, you’ll know this is not a weird convo to have. Anyways, so many people said ‘you should just go commando’ and maybe I am a prude, bit I was just like ‘ooh no’ – just felt wrong to be like hugging my Grandma or standing in front of all my family and friends and have no pants on underneath my dress. Am I weird for being so weirded out by that? Answers on a post card.
Okay so yes, usually I’m a baby pink nail person. However, I got a parcel from Sally Hansen which had their new Colour Therapy Autumn nail shades in, and my poor baby pink nail polishes- have been shunned ever since.
*Dramatic music plays*
I am obsessed with a couple of colours from this range, and I thought I’d share them with you, they’re nude, neutral and autumnal.
I particularly love Cashmere Calm which is like a pale nude brown, which I’m really loving and making me feel totally sophisticated. I can imagine Victoria Beckham enjoying this shade. I also like Diffused Light, a warm toned cream/white with a very subtle shimmer.
But the whole range is lovely and perfect for Autumn.
As much as I love dark nail shades like black’s and burgundy’s on other people, I always find they look weird on my nails, they always make my nails look really small like they’re cat claws, so I tend to avoid them.
So I’m really pleased that I can get into the Autumn spirit with my nails with these neutral shades.
I feel like the muted nudes just feel very on trend and I’ve been feeling super polished and more sophisticated than normal when wearing these.
The colours are also really glossy, have a nice big brush, apparently the polishes have argan oil to help nourish your nails whilst they’re on, so that’s cool.
I did find they did chip within a couple of days, which was a bit of a shame. But I’m really enjoying trying some different shades on my nails and I think that Cashmere Calm will be a regular on my nails this A/W.
So there we go. Another waffle from me about nail polish.
I would love to know what your fave Autumn nail shades are, let me know in the comments!
I’m off now as I’m going to go make myself some lunch and I think I’ve probably written enough about nail polish for today.
Have a good afternoon!
