Hey Lovelies,
Sorry for not posting for a few days, I always think should I apologise as I always feel a bit bad when I don’t post for a few days! To be honest I’ve just not been in the mood and didn’t want to put a post up that was half heartedly written as that wouldn’t be any fun to read. So after a few days break, I’m feeling charged up again on the blogging front and have made myself a little ‘to post’ about list.
So if you follow me on Twitter, you will know that last night I attended the Look Beauty launch. Look being weekly fashion glossy Look magazine of course. Look is definitely one of my fave magazines, I love the fashion and there’s always a good spread on beauty which keeps me happy! I was very excited about the event as I was intrigued about the range and couldn’t wait to see it in the flesh and of course see some of my blogging faves.
So off I trotted to London, armed with my Heat magazine and my detailed list of what tube to get, I can’t use tube maps you see, geography has never been my forte. I met up with Anna who had bumped into Kate, Lily, Zoe and Louise outside Primark and off we all trotted to the event. I was a bit blog star struck, I felt like a right little blogger, one because I am the height of a child and two because I was surrounded by super bloggers! The event was held in a hotel which easily one of the poshest places I’ve ever been in. It even smelt posh, like expensive perfume and candles. That’s when you know you’re somewhere posh I tell you.
Once in the Martini Library which was the room in the very posh hotel we were in, we were faced with tables full of the amazing beauty range, lots of Look magazines and a photobooth! Now I’m not going to lie but when I first heard about Look releasing a beauty range, I was a bit skeptical as I’ve always found magazine ranges to be a bit gimmicky and not very great quality. But I was so wrong, I was amazed at the vast array of shades of eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes and much more. I was like woah. I haven’t been this excited by a beauty range in a long, long time.
So I’ll tell you a little more about the range, the Look beauty team have developed the range themselves and they personally worked on every part of the range, from getting the right colours and working out what they thought Look readers would want. I have to tell you they’ve done a bloody good job! Something else that really impressed me is that donations from the sales of the range will go towards charity Look Good… Feel Better which is a cancer charity and provides make up workshops for women who are undergoing cancer treatment. I thought this was a really nice touch as I don’t really know many beauty ranges that support charities and it’s such a lovely charity that’s actually linked to make up too. I know that I won’t feel as guilty when I’m buying a Look make up item as I’ll know that part of the money will be going to a really good cause.
So what’s in the range? You have over 100 beauty essentials which includes 32 mono eyeshadows (there are some beautiful gold and brown colours in this collection) 32 nail colours (again some colours that are amazing!) foundations, mascaras, lipsticks, lipglosses and so much more. There were so many things that I saw and thought ‘ I need that in my life’ I am literally so excited for Look beauty to launch in my local Superdrug so I can go get what I want!
The prices are also really reasonable too, eyeshadows are £4.00, lipsticks are £7.00, lipgloss is £5.00. You also get a lot for your money, for example the triple hit eyeshadows which are £7.50 you’re getting 10g worth of product which is a fair bit of eyeshadow!
Overall the event was really lovely, I got to meet some bloggers whose blog’s I’ve been reading for like ever and I got to see some girls who I’ve met before and had a right laugh. Especially with Anna and a certain incident with a Heat magazine which we don’t need to go into! We also loved the photobooth that was there and tried to see how many beauty bloggers we could get into one photo, to be fair, we did quite well. We all definitely let out our inner posers! It was a brill event and I was so made up that I was invited!
A big thank you to the Look Beauty team for inviting me and a big shout out to Zoe who organised an amazing event! Also I got an amazing goody bag… post on that will be up very soon!
What do you think of the Look Beauty range, have you bought anything from it yet?
I hope you all have a lovely evening 🙂 Oh and p.s if you want a laugh read THIS article on the Daily Mail website, I am still laughing about the sarcy comments about the girls in this article. L-O-L.
