I feel like over the past couple of years, I’ve censored myself a little when it comes to being online. So busy with trying to be professional and ‘brand friendly’ I think I lost myself a little bit.
I would over think everything and although the internet is a different place to when I started blogging ten years ago, I still feel like there’s room to be yourself, and this year I’ve decided (especially with a re-brand on the horizon) that I’m going to try to be more myself. More real. And less importance on just being brand friendly, which tbh I’m not even sure was working.
Anyways, I’m wittering on, basically today’s post, I wanted to talk about random shit I’ve loved recently. I didn’t know what else to call it so there we go, you know we all do swear, and although I won’t be effing and jeffing all the time, but I decided that if I want to say shit in a blog post then I should – it is my blog after all right?
OKAY SO I NEED TO STOP WAFFLING ON.
Today’s post, I wanted to write about some random stuff I’ve been loving, I wanted this to feel easy to write and fun to read, like a chat with a pal over coffee or wine or something, so here are some random things I’ve been enjoying recently.
Sex Education
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably watched Netflix’s hit show Sex Education, but in case you haven’t – you need to. Probably one of my favourite things I’ve watched in ages, this is so refreshing, funny and tackles some pretty heavy issues but in a natural way. You always worry that the second season won’t be as good as the first, but thanks to a cast which is highly diverse and talented, it was even better. We binged it all in one weekend – roll on season 3!
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
So yes I’m about 33 years behind, but I’m absolutely living for the UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race, after stumbling across it one night, we became hooked. It’s very easy watching, but I am loving it. But don’t tell me who won as we’re only on week 5 so I will have to ask you to Sashay Away if you know the winner.
InvisBobbles
Okay so I told you this would be a random list, Invisibobbles (affiliate link) what an invention eh? I’ve been using these for the past few months and honestly, life changing. After being fed up of putting my hair in a top knot for bed and then waking up with hair bigger than Mia from the Princess Diaries’s before hair, I was getting a bit fed up. After doing a bit of googling, I ordered some Invisibobbles from Amazon, and they are so good. They stop my hair from being all kinky and frizzy and feel much kinder on the hair. It’s a yes from me.
Body Pump
So if you’ve read any of my other fitness posts, you’ll probably know I’m a fan of fitness classes. I find them very motivating and Body Pump has been one of my faves for about three years now, but I think that recently, I’ve been loving it even more. I don’t know if it’s the current release or that we’re finally starting to get to know people within the class or that rewarding feeling of being able to up your weights without dying, but I’m really enjoying it at the moment.
Make It Happen by Jordanna Levin
*affiliate link
I do believe in the law of attraction and manifestation, but lately I’ve been struggling with it. So I went on the hunt for a book to read that would inspire me to get my shit together. Someone I follow on Instagram recommend this book on their stories, and I thought ‘ooh’. I downloaded the sample and loved it so much so that I bought the full book (affiliate link) and it was £6. And if you guys know me, you’ll know that I’m usually very tight when it comes to buying books, I mean the amount of tripe I’ve read just because it was free in the kindle store 😂 but this book is SO good. It talks about the law of attraction and how to manifest in a real non BS way. It has practical exercises and Jordanna talks about things that make sense and is realistic- she acknowledges that you’re a human being so you will have bad days and negative thoughts which some books *cough The Secret cough* seem to forget happen, or think you should chastise yourself for god forbid having a bad thought. I mean clearly a lot of books have been written by men who don’t suffer from PMS!! But really would recommend, a great read and left me feeling so inspired.
Okay andddd I think that’s everything, a little random list of some thing I’ve been loving recently, I’m hoping to write more of these posts more often so let me know if you’d like that!
Hope you’re all having a fab week, and I’ll see you soon!
