In 2019, I achieved one of my biggest career goals to date; to work as a brand ambassador. I have been lucky enough to work with Neutrogena® this year as a Skinsider which has been such an amazing experience in which I’ve learnt so much.
As my time as a Skinsider comes to an end, I thought I’d write a post about my time working with Neutrogena® and what I’ve learnt in that time, I thought it might be quite interesting as I’ve not spoken much on my blog about my work with Neutrogena® as this has mostly been based on Instagram.
So what has my role been? Basically, alongside the other skinsiders, we’ve been ambassadors for Neutrogena® and have tried new products out, learnt about products and been given a real understanding of different skin types and ingredients, which has been so interesting. It’s probably quite easy for brands to just make influencers ‘ambassadors’ and just get them to say they love the brand, but Neutrogena® have spent so much time educating us all, and really taking the time to ensure we know all about the products so that we can tell our readers and followers all the info, which I think has been great.
They also chose an amazing group of people to be Skinsiders, an inspiring group of people with different backgrounds, skin types and even the genres we all talk about online, it’s been amazing to meet new people and I’ve been so inspired by everyone else’s content and stories.

We’ve attended workshops throughout the year to learn about new products, how to treat our skin and even had workshops on confidence and wellness which has been so insightful.
I’ve been so privileged to try new products out before they’ve been released (such as the new and exciting Clear & Soothe® range) and I’ve discovered so many new favourites over the year.

I think my favourite products have to be; The Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser® which is the perfect light but hydrating base for under makeup, T/Gel® Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for Oily Scalp – amazing for greasy hair that is prone to dandruff and smells of melon! I also love the Norwegian Formula range, the Norwegian Formula Deep Moisture Body Lotion is incredible for wintery dry skin!
But I have so many favourites, possibly too many to list! And I’ve learnt so much about different ingredients within our skincare, I’ve learnt that Hyaluronic acid is a must for me and my routine and that Salicylic acid is the best for my skin for keeping breakouts at bay.
I’ve discovered that I’ve loved to learn about skin and ingredients, so I have found a new passion for working out what’s best for your skin, I’m now forever looking at the ingredient list and working out what’s going to work!

Like I said above, we didn’t just learn about products in our workshops, we also had talks on different subjects such as self-confidence, wellness, meditation, and much more. I was super excited about a talk by Alice Lieving which we had back in June – who I’ve been a fan of for years!
But as well as learning new things about skincare, I’ve learnt some things about myself too in which I’m quite proud about, I’m firstly proud to have even been a Skinsider, to work alongside a brand that I’ve loved for so many years is such an achievement for me. Secondly, I’m proud of myself for pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
When it came to the events, I didn’t go to London once in 2018, I developed a bit of a fear of going, so to have to go a few times and stay over and meet new people, it massively pushed me out of my comfort zone but I did it and I was fine and the workshops became something I looked forward to and enjoyed.

Thirdly, I feel like I’ve really tried to push myself and my creativity when it’s come to my work with Netutrogena®.
I’ve created some content that I’m really proud of, and I’ve been so excited to work on the content that we’ve been asked to create.

Don’t get me wrong, being a brand ambassador isn’t easy work, this has been my biggest and hardest work project to date, sometimes it’s been hard trying to think of new ideas and meet deadlines but it’s been such a rewarding few months, and I’ve loved working alongside a brand who really cares so much about the products they are selling and the effort they’ve put into the Skinsider campaign has been amazing.
Neutrogena® definitely isn’t a brand to be overlooked, their prices are super affordable but the products are so high quality and made alongside dermatologists and they actually work. The team are so knowledgeable about all the products and it’s been an absolute blast.
I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing a bit more about my time as a skinsider and I’d been more than happy to answer any questions that any of you may have, and if you want any product recommendations – please let me know as I’m more than happy to help!
What’s your favourite Neutrogena product?
