Like most basics, candles make me incredibly happy. Especially Christmas scented ones. In fact, I tend to burn Christmas candles all year round, which is either genius or incredibly sad, but considering my favourite scents are ; vanilla and cinnamon, Christmas candles couldn’t be more up my street. Sometimes, I have to dig out my regular candles though when it’s July and the house smells like Gingerbread and Henry walks in from work with a quizzical look on his face.
But seeing as it’s December and almost Christmas, I can burn my Christmas candles to my heart’s consent.
Today, I thought I’d share some of my current faves, I’ve also included some reed diffusers too as I do love a good reed diffuser, and any of these should leave your home smelling like a winter wonderland.
I’m not really a fan of berry scents, so my ideal Christmas candles are either ; very sweet (think baking/vanilla scents) and cinnamon/spicy scents (think cinnamon and orange, or gingerbread, that kinda thing) as these scents remind me the most of Christmas.
First of all, we have my current fave candle; Zoella Lifestyle’s Festive Cookie candle, which smells insane. It smells like a mixture of gingerbread and vanilla, so two of my fave scents. I also love the rose gold little gingerbread men on the candle too, so cute! It makes the room smell like you’ve been baking, which is great but a bit sad for Henry who comes home hoping I’ve baked something, when in fact, it’s just my candle!
Talking of gingerbread candles, next we have a set of mini Christmas candles from Next, which has five festive scents in metallic jars which I am obsessed with. There’s a Gingerbread one (smells amazing) Prosecco (yes really) Mulled Wine, Kir Royale and Gin Fizz. They are perfect for dotting round the house and trying, to see which one is your fave.
I think my favourite has to be the Gingerbread flavour (surprise surprise) but they all smell really good and like I said, I really love the little metallic jars are they’re so cute to display on places like the fireplace.
Joyful Glow is a gorgeous, Christmassy candle from Elemis which I have been burning non stop recently. With a vanilla, orange and cinnamon scent, it’s basically Christmas in a jar. The box is even super festive and the silver candle looks really luxurious.
The candle is really strongly scented and whenever I walk into the living room when I’ve been burning this, I’m always like ‘ah it smells like Christmas in here!’
This Sanctuary Cosy Candle set are also very cute, and perfect for getting an idea of what scent you like. Fireside, Luxury Oud and the Signature Sanctuary Scent aren’t your typical Christmas scents but they still smell amazing.
Next in my festive candle line up, is this very Christmassy rose gold candle from Primark. I bought this way back in September as I was worried it may sell out, but it’s still in stores 🙂 this was only £5 and tbh I didn’t really care what it smelt like, as the rose gold Christmas Tree lid was worth the price tag alone. It actually smells very festive, a bit cinnamon and sweet, but like I said, the lid is worth buying alone for decoration purposes!
My final candle fave is my good old trusty Yankee Candle Wax Melts which I burn in my wax melt burner (funnily enough) I honestly can’t recommend getting one of these enough as I find wax melt to be so much more scented than candles and they last longer too! I tend to break half a melt in my burner and this lasts me for a good week, then it’s a case of using some boiling water ( I tend to pop it in the sink and pour the kettle over it, to remove the wax and start again.) I have an abundance of Yankee Candle Christmas melts, and my fave scents are ; Christmas Cookie, Snowflake Cookie, and All Is Bright, but they all smell amazing.
Now let’s talk reed diffusers;
I was so excited to start getting the reed diffusers out, and I’ve had Christmas scented ones in the living room since about mid November. First of all, is this very cute Next trio of Mini Festive Reed Diffusers which last 4 weeks so are perfect for adding round the house to scent the house till Christmas! They smell of what I’d call; traditional Christmas, so think mulled wine, cinnamon etc.. bu they also look pretty cute too right?
I also have a giant version which I couldn’t wait to get up in the living room when we decorated the house. It smells amazing and I’m tempted to get another one to have in the house after Christmas!
I also bought a festive reed diffuser from Primark back in September too, this is Winter Spice which smells exactly as you’d imagine. It was super cheap and is pretty strong considering it was less than a fiver. I do love a good Primark Reed Diffuser, I think they’re so good for the price!
So there we have some of my festive candle/home fragrance line up, there are lots more that I love including; The White Company – Winter candles and any of the Yankee Candle Christmas scents.
I’d love to know if you have a favourite Christmas candle?
