Hey Girlies!
Last Sunday morning when I was partaking in one of my favourite activities: reading blogs in bed with a hot chocolate, I came across a review by Rachel of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte lipstick. I have always lusted after one of these lipsticks, obviously being a big fan of beauty blogs I’ve seen many reviews and I almost bought one in Crete airport in the duty free till I realised that even without the VAT the price was more expensive than the UK. I’ve always also found at £22.00 a lipstick a little steep for my budget and I could never quite justify spending that amount on a lipstick.
After finishing my blog reading, I hopped onto Twitter and saw that Rachel had also tweeted that CheapSmells.com were running a special weekend offer on YSL products and the Rouge Volupte lipsticks were £13.95 WITH delivery! Well I hopped onto the CheapSmells website faster than the speed of light, £13.95? What a bargain. I did umm and aah about making the purchase, the good in me was saying ” do you really need another lipstick?” Whilst the bad in me was saying ” you can never have too many lipsticks and you have scored a job interview today so it can be a well done present.” Needless to say the latter won and I ordered the shade Nude Beige (N.01)
Now I don’t like to moan too much about delivery when it’s free but this seemed to take FOREVER to arrive. My lipstick was dispatched on Monday but didn’t arrive till this morning which is five working days. You see I’m quite impatient and when I order something online, I want it the next day through my letterbox or whenever the postman comes and the product doesn’t arrive, I tut rather loudly and get on with my day with a slight disappointment. So as you can imagine I was very excited when the postman knocked the door this morning whilst my boyfriend looked at me as if to say ” what have you ordered now?”
Swatch of Nude Beige
So what do I think of Nude Beige? Well firstly I don’t think it should be called ‘Nude Beige’ for a start as I wouldn’t class this as a typically nude lipstick. It’s definitely more of a pink in my opinion. I do like it though and it is a different shade to anything I own. In the photos I have taken it does look like nudey but I assure you it is more pink in the flesh.
Nude Beige ‘on’
I also noticed that when I first put it on the lipstick almost had bits in it, has anyone else found this? However after using it a couple of times this was eradicated so I don’t know what that was about! I find it’s a very creamy luxurious texture and the bullet is very aesthetically pleasing isn’t it? To me it looks like the type of lipstick that a princess would wear. Lame but true.
I do like this lipstick but I’m glad that I only paid £13.95 for it and not £22.00. You can buy YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks from CheapSmells for just £15.95 🙂
Do you own any YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks? What are your thoughts?
I hope you all have a lovely evening, I am already getting excited about watching a very guilty pleasure ” The Bachelor” !
