I won’t lie to you, but one of my fave things about Spring, isn’t the lighter evenings (though they definitely help) or the pretty blossom trees (though they’re great for Instagram) it’s the amazing nail polish collections that always drop at this time of year. That may sound a little weird, but I am a sucker for anything pastel-y coloured, especially nail polish.
This years Spring collection from essie* isn’t the usual Spring colours that you’d imagine, in fact there’s barely a pastel colour between the lot of them. But then I guess when you’ve already perfected the mint green and baby pink, then what else is there to do?
That being said, it isn’t like this Spring range is a duffer, no not at all. But these colours will definitely see you through to Summer and maybe even Autumn, so that’s good if you like your nail polish to last you through the seasons.
So let’s move onto the shades shall we?
Off Tropic, a deep palm tree green colour.
High Class Affair, a peachy blush nude,
Lounge Lover, a pretty flamingo pink colour,
Sunshine State Of Mind is a bright orange coral which would look amazing with a tan, let me tell you.
Pool Side Service, an almost murky teal blue colour,
Shades On, a slightly lighter than Cadbury’s Purple colour.
All the shades are glossy, have the amazing wide brush that makes painting your nails easy (even for a doughnut like me) and are also less prone to chipping. I always find that Essie shades always last longer on my nails than any other polish.
The shades should be in Boots and Superdrug already (if you’re going shopping this weekend) and should be in stores till 30th May. They’re £7.99 each.
The essie spring shades are seriously pretty, my faves from the collection are Lounge Lover and High Class Affair. I just wish I had a summer holiday to go on now to show them off!
