Hello! Happy Easter Saturday, I hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend. If you’ve got a four day weekend then wahoo lucky you, if you’re working then I hope you know that bank holidays aren’t what they’re cracked up to be. I’m just trying to make you feel better cause I remember how annoyed I’d be working in retail when it seems the world and their dog has an extra day off apart from you. I’d walk around like a little angry squirrel plotting how I’d hit the next person who says to me ‘ ah it’s such a shame for you to be inside on a lovely sunny day like today.’ I know right, you’d hit them with a hanger too right?
Anyway I am digressing, today the main purpose of this post isn’t to have a chinwag. As lovely as that would be, we’ve all got lives here and you’re probably here because it’s a Lush Easter Haul so we’ll get stuck in. I realise I am a little late with this post, I have been a bit useless lately so we’ll blame that but you still should be able to snap up these bath delights over this weekend, so not all is lost. I hope.
I bought a few things myself and very kindly was sent some from Lush, I’ve put a little * next to anything I was sent just so everything is Crystal clear here and we can talk about what each thing is too, so without further a do lets get right on into it before I chew your ear off (not literally cause that’s gross) with something else.
The Basics: This is one of the cutest bath bombs ever, it’s a pink egg, what is not to like? It’s very sweet smelling, think Snow Fairy esque. It turns the bath a bright pink, and is one of the cheaper bath bombs so if you’re looking for a treat this Easter weekend and are fed up of chocolate ( who are you and get off my blog) then this could be for you!
The Scent: Very sweet, think Snow Fairy/bubble gum/love hearts
Instagram Worthy?: Yes! It’s incredibly cute (would be great for a flatlay) and turns the water bright pink which is always a lovely shot for Instagram.
The Golden Egg: I always have to get this because it fascinates me. It’s like something from the set of Harry Potter and I kinda like that. Warning though that this bath bomb melt will get glitter everywhere so you have been warned. It’s toffee scented that I can’t really smell, but it smells quite sweet and almost shea buttery. It has cocoa butter in, which is great for moisturising and olive oil too. So if you use this and don’t come out with skin as silky as a dolphin then I’d probably get my money back if I were you.
The Scent: Toffee apparently, but smells quite sweet like shea/cocoa butter. Very inoffensive.
Instagram Worthy?: Now let’s have some real talk, although this egg is amazing to instagram, the colour of the water is not instagramable if I’m honest. So there we go.
Bunch Of Carrots*: This bubble bar pack is back again this year, but unlike last year’s offering which was three orange carrots we have one orange, one purple and one pink. Could someone please tell me where Lush shop to find a pink carrot cause I would like to go there. You swill these round in your bath to create bubbles. They’re re usable so you’ll get a good few uses out of these so that’s great, but if I remember last year, you have to be careful to not leave any orange residue on the side of the bath.
The Scent: Quite citrus-y thanks to Sicilian lemon and grapefruit oils.
Instagram Worthy: Yes completely, who doesn’t want to see a pink carrot? Not only that but the carrots provide a pastel pink/purple colour in the water.
Bouncy Bunny*: This is a soap that is very orange, both in colour and scent. It’s probably how I look and smell after putting on a fake tan. This is a very cute bunny face, which is quite cool. It lathers up and smells amazing! You can use it a few times and would be perfect for little ones who find washing with a bunny cool.
The Scent: Thanks to Sicilian orange oil, this smells just like oranges. I personally love the smell and think it’s a great scent to use in the morning but if you don’t like oranges or bunnies, may be best to avoid this one.
Instagram Worthy: Although the bunny face is very cute, I don’t know how you’d get a good instagram out of this, so probably not one for the grid.
Ultraviolet: This is a gigantic bubble bar which lured me with it’s bright colours. It’s re usable and because it’s such a big slab ( i mean if all cakes were cut this size then I’d be very happy) you would easy get four/five baths out of this bar! With violet leaf, Jasmine, and Ylang Ylang this is quite a good sleepy bar to use.
The Scent: It smells quite earthy if that makes sense, almost a bit herby/lavender? I’m not hot on the smell, but it looks pretty so you know swings and roundabouts.
Instagram Worthy?: Yes! The massive coloured slab would be perfect for Instagram, but the water turns a deep purple which would look very cool with a filter from VSCO cam for Instagram. I would say this is a very tumblr Lush product if that makes sense?
Somewhere Over The Rainbow*: This glittery pastel soap is perfect for lathering up with in the shower. With rose, Sicilian Mandarin oil, and neroli oil, which leaves you feeling fresh and well I guess clean? It’s very pretty and would last a while, I can imagine.
The Scent: Personally I can’t notice a strong scent from this soap, it kind of just smells like soap if that makes sense?
Instagram Worthy? I would say so, it looks pretty cool but I can’t imagine that you could do much with it once you’ve used it.
Flowering Tea*: This is a bubble bar melt in the shape of a tea bag. Ever wished you could bath in a cup of tea? Okay well now you can (genuinely wondering if anyone has ever thought this) So what happens with this is one is pretty cool, you dunk it in water and flower petals out. I know right? That’s pretty darn fancy.
The Scent: Quite floral thanks to blue cornflower petals, Rosewood Oil (five points if you just thought of PLL) and orange flower absolute. Personally the smell is not for me, it smells to me a little like old lady, but by all means give it a sniff.
Instagram Worthy? A big tea bag is pretty cool and petals in the bath could be pretty nice, I would say I am 50/50 on whether this would make it for Instagram.
Rose Bombshell*: This pretty bath bomb was part of the Mother’s Day Collection I think, but is still online so that is good! It’s very floral scented thanks Rose absolute, Geranium, and rose oil. It’s not too floral, it’s quite sweet. It also has petals in so you can bath and pretend you’re a queen or something cause I imagine she has petals in her bath.
The Scent: A sweet floral, nothing too in your face.
Instagram Worthy?: Definitely, it leaves the bath water a pretty pink colour with petals too!
Twilight Bath Bomb: This is an old favourite but I decided to pick one up to stock up my bath bomb collection. It has lavender in to aid a good nights sleep, and to clear your mind from your daily stresses and worries. Just typing this all out is making me ready for bed!
The Scent: It smells like Lush. Like that Lush smell when you walk into one of their shops.
Instagram Worthy?: Yes, the bath turns to a pastel pink and blue purple and then going to a deeper purple. Very pretty.
Creamy Candy Bubble Bar: My final purchase was this creamy candy bubble bar, it’s been on my wish list for a while as when I was stocking up on candy mountain bubble bars at Christmas (my all time fave lush product) the assistant told me that this bubble bar smelt the exact same. I was like amazing, and it does! It’s very sweet, if you know candy mountain you’ll know the smell. I love it.
The Scent: Very sweet, think bubblegum, vanilla and cocoa butter. I want to just carry it round with me in a tissue all day.
Instagram Worthy?: Yes, it’s very cute and makes the water bright pink, what’s not to like? Well maybe if you don’t like cute pink things that is.
So that is my Lush Easter Haul, I cannot wait to have a bath this weekend and pamper myself, are you going to be sprinting off down to Lush this weekend?
