With my holiday to Orlando happening in less than one month, (yes OMG) I have been trying to save money like there’s no tomorrow. Now I am pretty bad at saving money, just call me a Rebecca Bloomwood, but I am a shopaholic, something I am sure you guys already know. I’ve been shopping my stash and trying out some new drugstore favourites which means I get new make up and save my pennies too! Browsing Boots and Superdrug is one of my favourite things to do and recently there has been loads of new releases that wet any beauty enthusiasts appetite.
First of all I’ve been trying some drugstore foundations, one from my collection and a new one, the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is perfect for spring skin. A dewy finish with a medium coverage, it awakens a dull complexion, and blends in lovely. I have been really enjoying using this again lately and it’s even been pipping my YSL touche Eclat foundation most mornings, and that is high praise indeed. Next is Bourjois’s CC cream*, a lighter offering which is like a tinted moisturiser almost. Lighter coverage and a radiant dewy finish, it’s perfect for warmer days. The colour right now is a little darker than my skin at the moment, but I’m sure after a few days in Orlando this will suit me a bit better! To set all my foundation, the Bourjois Java Rice powder* is still up there as my favourite powder, it’s perfect for setting under eye concealer, and it helps to create a airbrushed finish, which illuminates too. Perfect for dull skin days!
I have had a lot of dry, dull skin days, so one of my all time favourite highlighters 17 Skinwow 3 way highlighter has been helping to liven up my skin and give it a much needed glow. I know I sound like a broken record, but this is the most amazing highlighter for under £10. Moving onto eyes, the new Mega Liner from Bourjois*, this super black eyeliner is something you need in your life if you love a bit of liner. It lasts all day and is the blackest liner I have ever used. I am very impressed. To also make my lashes look longer, I’ve been using L’oreal’s Miss Manga mascara, it makes your lashes really full and long. Also it’s pretty hard wearing too but not so much that you can’t get it off in the evenings. Moving onto nails, it’s no surprise that my current favourite polishes come from Barry M’s spring Gelly range*. They’re pastel coloured, good at not chipping and just £3.99, what more could I want?
So that’s my current drugstore picks, what are you loving at the moment?
