Hello!
So you may or may not know that a month or so ago, I changed positions at work. I became a personal shopper, something I was super excited about as it had always been a job I’d ‘fancied.’ Hello shopping for a job? However it’s not as glamorous as it may seem, but hey I do enjoy it. However I suddenly realised I’d have to start wearing proper work clothes, something I was not used to. As since July when I started my other job, I had a uniform, I didn’t need to think about what I had to wear at all, but now I have to plan all my outfits and when you’re a personal shopper there’s that extra pressure to look nice.. after all no one wants to be dressed by someone who isn’t dressed well. Luckily I didn’t have to adapt too much with my wardrobe, I do like to wear quite dressy stuff most of the time and you all know how much I love my blouses and shorts. Which is mainly my uniform. I also suddenly realised it’s been ages since I’ve done outfit posts, in the mornings I barely have enough time to eat breakfast never mind snap some outfit photos. So I’ve done a little lookbook of outfits I wear regularly to work so you don’t all think I’m neglecting you. So I introduce you to my work wear wardrobe.. something I like to describe as school girl chic.
Staple One: Shorts
It won’t be a surprise that shorts are a key staple in my wardrobe. I like to live by the rules to have staples in my wardrobe, stuff that can be mixed and matched with lots of different things. I’m not into having pieces that just go with one thing. My black Miss Selfridge shorts are like old friends, bought on a whim last year after seeing Caroline Flack in them, I have literally never taken them off. For work I team them with blazers and blouses.
Blazer: Missguided
Blouse: Diamond by Julien Mcdonald at Debenhams
Shorts: Miss Selfridge
Staple Two: Knitwear
Now it’s pretty nippy out there, knitwear is a bit of a must in my wardrobe. It also doesn’t help that someone keeps messing with the heating in my suite so some mornings I’ll go in and the place will be like a ice block. However I still need to make jumpers look quite smart so I’ll swap the blazer for a jumper like this for a stylish but snuggly look.
Jumper: Red Herring at Debenhams
Blouse: Diamond by Julien Mcdonald at Debenhams
Shorts: Miss Selfridge
Staple Three: Peter Pan Collar’s
Tops with peter pan collars are a must have in my wardrobe, I do love a good collar and well now it’s winter, they’re great for layering up. I pop mine under jumpers, like I do with embellished collared blouses. I also like to pop them underneath blazers like I have done down below. This is my sailor outfit as my supervisor likes to call it!
Blazer: Primark
Tops: Red Herring at Debenhams
Shorts: Miss Selfridge
Okay so that’s it for now, I’m going to split my work lookbook into two parts as I don’t want to bore you all! So part two will be coming up pretty soon! So I hope you’re all good, and I’ll speak to you soon 🙂
