If you’ve been reading this blog for a while there’s something you should know about me. You should by now of realised that I like big, curly hair. In fact you may of not seen me with my hair any other way and truth be told, I don’t even leave the house these days without big curls thanks to my Enrapture Heated Rollers. Since December last year when they came into my life, the way I have styled my hair has changed and I’ve gone from flat locks to big and bouncy, that I’m sure with a bit of practise won’t be far off Cheryl’s hair. When I was packing for America, I was in a bit of a quandary, we didn’t have a huge weight allowance for our cases so we knew we had to pack relatively light. We also wanted to make sure we had plenty of room for all our new purchases, after all we were visiting America! This lead me to debate whether to take my rollers with me, they’re not the most travel friendly and are quite heavy. I decided that I couldn’t go round with flat hair ( I mean what if I met Ed Westwick in NYC?) However, luck was on my side and a couple of days before I went away, the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler* arrived on my doorstep. I was chuffed, this was lighter than my rollers so I could take it away with me. Hooray.

It may of been a risk taking a hair tool with me on holiday that I hadn’t really played with properly but I was positive after reading many good reviews about this hair tool that my hair was in safe hands or a safe titanium plate. The encode totem styler is essentially a curling wand for your hair, but that little more genius. It has three heat settings for you to choose from. 1 is for waves, 2 is for loose curls and 3 for ringlets, you can make your own combinations of the three to create your perfect curling level. For example you could use 1-1-1 for a loose wave, 3-3-3 for really tight curls or my favourite combination is 1-2-3 which is a mixture of waves and curls. It did take me a couple of days to get used to the totem styler, I’d forgotten how long it takes to do strand by strand, but pretty soon I got the hang of things. The totem styler has a little flipper which holds the hair in place when curling, with curling wands usually you have to hold the hair in place which can be a little annoying. This means you can have the hair kept in place for you meaning the skilled hair curlers can browse Twitter whilst curling with their spare hand. Beware though this is for the professionals 😉 Like the rollers, the totem styler heats up super fast and even has a little stand so it can cool down safely. The amount of times I’ve nearly burnt carpets due to other wands having no stands! Although the Extremity Heated Rollers are still my ultimate fave hair tool, the totem styler is a close second. It creates waves and gives my hair that Victoria’s Secret effect ( I wish anyways) that every girl loves. Of course the totem styler doesn’t provide as much volume as the heated rollers do, however after a bit of back combing and Batiste XXL dry shampoo, you’re away. Another good thing is that the Totem Styler seems to be on offer a lot more than the heated rollers do, so look out for any offers. I’ve had a scout round and not seen any at the moment. The totem styler is another winner from Enrapture and I’d totally recommend it. I love the way it makes my hair look and loads of you commented on my hair in the NYC picture I instragrammed when I was over there. It takes about 10/15 minutes for me to do my hair which isn’t too bad considering the length and thickness of it. A thumbs up from me that’s for sure 🙂 I hope you’ve all had a good Friday, back to work for me tomorrow (boo) but then I have Sunday off so that’s not too bad!
