Hey Lovelies!
So tomorrow is the day, the day the blogging world (slight exaggeration) has been waiting for, the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while or glanced to your right, you will know I was short-listed in the Established Beauty Blog category, to be honest, I’m still a little in shock about this and without sounding too (loving my italic button tonight 😉 ) cheesy, I feel I have won a little by just making the short-list.
So I’ve never been to an awards ceremony before and to be honest who knows if I’ll ever be invited to one again or even nominated for another award so I thought I best make an effort and I thought I’d just pop a little post up with my pampering schedule for the awards.
The Outfit
Coming to an OOTD near you soon, tonight I will be trying my dress on and trying to decide on shoes and accessories. My dress which I like to call a LBLD (little black lace dress) is from USC and looks better on. I realise it’s a little boring but sometimes I think you don’t need to wear show stopping outfits to look nice, I also thought that this dress/style won’t date so in years to come when I’m telling the grand kids about the cosmo blog awards they’ll think ‘ she looked alright back in the day.’ As I have a feeling when I’m older I’ll end up looking like Nancy Dell’olio. I also realise the shoes which in the picture are from River Island and are about three years old now (whoo time flies when you’re having fun) and look a little frumpy, these do look much better on and they’re one of my more comfortable pairs of heels, I’m a bit wary of heels after almost falling over after the Eylure event and Anna having to almost catch me!
The Hair
I’m hoping to channel Cheryl Cole circa 2008 hair wise, so I will be prepping it using Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine shampoo and conditioner to add some shine, because who doesn’t like shiny hair? On the day I think I will be backcombing and curling. Deciding to not do something too fussy with my hair and hopefully I’ll be able to get some voluminous curls!
The Tan
Something that I will be accessorizing my LBLD with is a tan. I still have a pretty good natural tan for October but it’s fading and I don’t feel it’s dark enough for an awards ceremony, I did contemplate going on the naughty sunbeds, I even popped my sunbed lotion and goggles into my handbag but in the end I decided no. I thought the sunbed costs money and is bad for you and I have plenty of fake tan so I’ll go with that. I’m going to be using some St. Tropez that I received for my birthday, yes that’s right even using posh fake tan!
The Nails
Lots of other girlies going tomorrow night have snapped up some gorgeous glittery heels, so I’ve decided to amp up the glitter with some glittery nails! I’m going to be painting my nails using Models Own Pink Fizz, so at least when I’m doing my gracious “I’m not fussed that I didn’t win” clap, my nails will look ever so glamorous.
The other odd jobs
So tonight I will also be doing day 4 of the 30 Day Shred, I have eaten way too much lately so trying to get a little healthy again, I also thought that if I tone my arms up before tomorrow night they may look a little less like gammon joints which is what they usually look like. I will also be cleaning my flat like a mad woman as my Mum and her two friends are coming to visit on Thursday and they’ve not seen the new flat eeeek! My Mum’s always like, you don’t need to clean for us, but regardless of who is coming round, I always clean manically, does anyone else do this? I just like the flat to look nice, I don’t want anyone thinking I’m in need of a visit from Kim and Aggie. If you don’t know who these pair are, shame on you indeed.
So that’s my plan for this evening, I am going to be a very busy bee!! So yes, if you’re going to the Cosmo Blog Awards tomorrow night too say hello! I’ll be the one looking like a TOWIE member probably! I also just want to say thanks to everyone who reads and voted for my blog because if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be going tomorrow night.
