Hey Girlies!
Now I’m sure you’ve probably seen umpteen posts about the famous Liz Earle cleanse and polish, hot cloth cleanser so I’ll try to not harp on too much so you don’t get too bored. As you probably know, I have problems with my skin and a few weeks ago, I decided to take action. I’d heard alot about Liz Earle products so I thought Liz Earle was the way to go.
I emailed Liz Earle to ask for some advice, I wanted to get some advice on what products would be the best for my skin and they kindly offered to send me their famous Cleanse and Polish to review. I was very grateful and it arrived the day before I was due to go on holiday. Now you’re probably thinking ‘that was weeks ago.’ It was and I like to use products for a little while before posting them on here, so I can give you all a proper review of the product and whether I like them or not. Also with skincare, we all know that nothing happens over night, it usually takes about 4-6 weeks to notice a difference in your skin when using a different skincare product. So after using the Cleanse and Polish for 4 weeks, I feel I can finally give you all a proper review.
What is it?
Taken from the Liz Earle official website they say ….” We only make one cleanser because this formulation is the ultimate in concentrated yet gentle cleansing power and works on every age and skin type. Our plant based cleanser has a two-phase action, phase one is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make up even stubborn mascara. Phase two is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin. Naturally active ingredients include eucalyptus and cocoa butter for smoother clearer skin.”
They definitely have a way with words don’t they?! When I read all this when I first received the cleanse and polish, I was a bit skeptical. I was like yeaaaah, like it will take off ALL my make up even my mascara. But I was wrong, this cleanser literally takes every last scrap of make up off. Even waterproof mascara and gel eyeliner.
How do I use it?
I’m very lazy when it comes to skincare, I don’t want to be faffing around for twenty minutes in the morning and at night applying different lotions and potions to my face. The cleanse and polish is right up my street as it hardly takes any time up but is effective at the same time. I tend to ‘cleanse and polish’ my face (ha does anyone else think of Mr.Pledge polish whenever you say polish? Right now I’m imagining my face as a wooden table that needs polishing… aah I amuse myself.) In the shower as that way I remember to do it! It takes me about two minutes and I’m always left with a super clean and soft face. It’s very simple the whole process, you first apply a couple of pumps of the cleanser to your face and rub it in. I like to massage it in all over my face and neck. I also love the fact you can use it on your eyes as most cleansers are like ‘ don’t use near your eyes or you’ll lose your sight’ that kind of thing. I then get the pure muslin cloth and rinse in hot water, wring it out and then using circular motions to wipe off my make up. I’m also a bit scared of exfoliaters, but the muslin cloth is very soft and although you know it’s exfoliating your face, it isn’t harsh on your face.
All in all after using the cleanse and polish every morning and night for about four weeks, I do feel there is a difference in my skin. Yes it’s not perfect but I wouldn’t expect my skin to be perfect after just four weeks of use. The cleanse and polish can be bought in a variety of sizes but I would recommend getting the 100ml starter pump kit for £13.75. Pricey for a cleanser I know but it is worth it. Liz Earle products can be bought online from their website here, you can also check online for nearby stockists.
Have you tried Liz Earle products? What did you think? I hope you all have a lovely evening 🙂
I was sent this product by Liz Earle’s PR team to review but even though the product was sent to me for free, I have remained honest in my review and have even bought more products from Liz Earle with my own money.
